Mission of Crooked Love Media

My mission is this: to create quality media that is subversive by design.

For my purposes, I define subversive media as: storytelling that provides alternative values to the prejudiced stories of our world. Subversive storytelling holds up variety among humans as valuable and not dangerous, demonstrates the worth of those often persecuted or left out, and provides plotlines that reward the fight against bigotry and greed.

I define quality media as: storytelling that compels its target audience. No media will compel everyone, and the effectiveness of a story should be measured by how well it works for the people it was designed to touch.

I recognize that bigotry in its many forms also affects my mind, and that because of this, my media will probably never be as subversive as I want. My pledge to you, my audience, is to keep trying regardless.

I do my work on the land of the Duwamish/Coast Salish people. They are the area’s original storytellers.
